Nokia have released their new phone – ‘Nokia 808 PureView‘ today at MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2012. But what’s so specific in it that it has brought a Revolution in Imaging ? I mean every phone now has camera’s of 8MP – 12MP. It’s so common now that a phone having a camera of 12MP like Nokia N8 has become less popular and most of the people have it. Nothing new in that. But the thing which makes Nokia 808 PureView the Pro Imaging Phone is, ‘The Combination of a Large, Super High Resolution 41 Mega Pixel Camera with High Performance Carl Zeiss optics.‘ Well you heard that right. With its groundbreaking 41 MP image quality, Carl Zeiss lens, and PureView imaging technology, you’ll take the best photos ever with a smartphone.

The large sensor enables pixel oversampling, which means the combination of many pixels into one perfect pixel. PureView imaging technology is the result of many years of research and development and the tangible fruits of this work are amazing image quality, lossless zoom, and superior low light performance. Nokia has done a mouth widening job with this Hell Amazing Innovation.

The first device to feature Nokia PureView Pro camera technology is the Nokia 808 PureView, which gives people the means to take better images and video footage than ever before.

PureView Pro Imaging Specifications :

    Summary

Nokia 808 PureView Pro turns conventional thinking on its head. It dispenses with the usual scaling/interpolation model of digital zoom used in virtually all smartphones, as well as optical zoom used in most digital cameras, where a series of lens elements moves back and forth to vary the magnification and field of view.

The result ? Unprecedented camera control and versatility, combined with truly spectacular-quality images and video. Nokia 808 PureView sets new industry standards — it will give you around 3x lossless zoom for stills, and 4x zoom in full HD 1080p. For 720p HD video, you’re looking at 6x lossless zoom. And for nHD (640×360) video, an amazing 12x zoom! :)

Who said Symbian is dead ? You can see the revolutionary answer to this with this new innovation ;) This is great turning point in the Mobile Imaging Technology in which Nokia has stepped in as the first Brand introducing such a High Resolution Smartphone. Soon you will find other popular brands like Sony, will be coming up with such smartphone’s with high resolutions cams. The only cons of the phone is of having a 4 inch screen which doesn’t fit with the camera resolution. But so far so good, this is the best phone launched by Nokia yet having a 41MP cam. Check out the video which says it all

Well let me tell you one thing, the more thickness a phone has the best quality of pictures it gives through its camera. As a powerful camera needs more space and the Pureview Technology used in this phone is new and complex. So the phone has a wide thickness due to which it will amazing picture clarity :)

I thought that Nokia won’t release Symbian-powered phone after completing partnership with Microsoft. So, it’s an immediate surprise to know the move. What I know why Nokia doesn’t utilize Windows Phone OS on the PureView is because the platform is still incompatible with the camera.

That’s the googly played by Nokia. When everyone thought that Symbian will be dead, Nokia came up with an Amazing Phone with PureView Technology with a 41MP Camera. Nokia named the Software of 808 as Nokia Belle FP1 but sources say that at the MWC 2012, it was heard that the Version is known as Nokia Carla! So if it’s true then the next Software Version will be called as ‘Carla’ after ‘Belle’.

I guess the technology used in PureView would have not supported Windows OS for which Nokia came up with a new platform Belle FP1, though the features are same as that of Belle. Indeed of having such a high resolution camera, the image size varies within 7-8 MB where as in case of N8′s 12MP the image size comes around 5 MB. The only con of this phone is that it has very small screen of 4 inches which I personally think should have been more to accompany with the 41 MP Resolution.
