Did you intentionally misspell “spammed” there? Anyway. About the less reputable sites, the best way I can do with them would be to build a relationship with them, and perhaps be able to work together in the linking efforts. The same goes with the renowned websites out there. When you’re observing your contenders, that doesn’t mean that you should copy what they do. Go ahead with your own linking techniques.

Ahh, Fish. Thank you so much Gerald for notifying me about the silly mistake. Actually in a hurry, I wrote it as ‘Smapped’ rather than ‘Spammed’. Well I have corrected it. The thing you said, can also be considered by developing bonds with the bloggers having high/low PR, and mutually you can ask them for link exchange or other linking stuffs. And I guess you misunderstood the Contenders point. Defeating Contenders doesn’t meant that you will stalk their blogs and copy their content. NO! You should always come up with your own Unique content which should be known for you and unknown for others. This will actually help a lot in progressing ahead and getting better rankings.
