How Will HTML5 Change Gaming?

By -

HTML5 is a markup language for structuring and presenting content for the World Wide Web and a core technology of the Internet. HTML5 is rapidly turning into a great game development platform. As we get closer and closer to seeing the future in the palm of our hands, much like we were always promised it in old science fiction shows from the sixties and seventies, the devices and ideas that were so commonplace in those old programs are starting to become reality.

Just for example consider how close we are to having handheld communicators and portable computers with power that would have been incomprehensible a few short years ago. We are entering a golden age of technology and as with anything else that has become a huge part of our lives we are finding new and different ways to entertain ourselves with this new wave of gadgetry.

HTML5

The HTML5 specification introduces cool new features for making games, such as the Canvas, Video, and Audio elements.  When HTML5 is combined with the other exciting web technologies that make up the Open Web Platform, plugin-free gaming can be taken to a whole new level.

HTML5 is set to become the foundation of the upcoming mobile gaming era. Although still in development, HTML5 has been progressing much faster than previously anticipated. Take gaming as an example. In the last three decades we have seen gaming change from something that was only available in four colors to something that can look as realistic as a Hollywood blockbuster.

What’s more we’re now able to get that same level of detail and quality on our handheld devices. No matter what kind of game you are looking for there are numerous different types and styles of game to suit your taste. A very popular type of game is the casino style which includes games like Poker, Blackjack and roulette. There are plenty of apps that offer these games, but there are also some websites that have found a way to make these games come to life on your mobile phone. Here are few HTML5 games:

Emberwind

Bejeweled

Canvas Rider

Ladbrokes is just one such site. Using the latest advances in programming and the current HTML5 standard we are seeing casino gaming reach new levels of realism and detail. No matter what game you are interested in playing it’s right there and as easy to play as it is to operate your smart phone, just click here to get there.

Indeed there is a possibility that HTML5 will boom especially this year 2013 and one of the target product will be games. HTML5 is lighter and considerably fast as compared with Flash… just look at how video loads on Youtube as an example.
