4 Biggest Guest Blogging Mistakes to be Avoided Before Submission
Guest Blogging Mistakes ! I’ve been blogging from a year and the number of posts written as guest posts is more than the actual number of posts published on my own blog. It doesn’t matter when all that concerns me is quality traffic and loyal audience. This guest blogging journey taught me enough lessons to learn what all mistakes I’ve made in my early days.
We do guest blogging in a strategy of building links for our own blogs and sites. But I may call it as a greed of creating more number of backlinks so that we could rank high in the search engines, because link building through guest posting helps in a quicker bounce in your SERP’s ranking. Most of the times, in a hurry state of writing a lot of guest posts for different blogs, we commit many silly mistakes and some biggest mistakes.

If you are a blogger, I’m sure you would know the importance of guest blogging to enrich the Site’s SEO, drive traffic and get some good link backs with anchor text. Personally I saw some of my fellow bloggers making some mistakes when writing for other blogs. Now, I’ll let you know those mistakes which are never to be made.
4 Biggest Guest Blogging Mistakes
1. Targeting Wrong Blogs

If you have a Blog related to Internet Marketing (like I do), then you must write for relevant blogs. Writing for a blog which covers topics on Women Beauty Tips doesn’t help you in any way. People (of course, women) visit that blog to be more beautiful and when they’ve finally saw your author bio with a link to your internet marketing blog. I bet they don’t even care it; they completely give their best in increasing your site bounce rate. So it is always recommended to focus on which blog you’re targeting your posts to be published!

2. Providing Low Quality Posts
It doesn’t matter if you are writing for your blog or others, you must always be productive in bringing quality content to the readers. You must satisfy the expectation of the blog’s admin from you. Your article must be good enough to make the admin publish it and the audience too. Images and Videos plays an important role in enhancing your posts.

A strong content includes a minimum of 3 well designed pictures (avoid google images and try to create your own) which makes the post well readable. Videos are optional unless and unless it is some sort of Tutorial or Guide. It should not be your post that lowers down the blog reputation. And never ever use copied content
3. Not Using Anchor Text
One of the important point behind the reason of your guest blogging is to get quality do-follow link backs to your site. So you must use your blog keywords as anchor texts. But I suggest you to get a link back to any of your best writing. It can be a landing page which turns the visitor into a reader. I don’t know what to say, when I see people link back to their site using texts like Click Here. Are you one among them?

4. Excessive Promotion

People don’t care even if you are the younger brother of Pete Cashmore or the cousin of Darren Rowse (Hope you might be knowing them if you’re a serious blogger). So even if you are the owner of a well-established blog, you shouldn’t make the readers feel uncomfortable.
I know, self-promotion is also a reason to guest post. But, 4-5 lines of properly written author bio can bring enough reputation to you. However, you can use it wise. If you provide any writing/blogging related services, you can add those details in your author bio. You can get good number of audience and clients together, if they find your post interesting enough.
Conclusion
Guest Blogging is now a spree in the Blogosphere. But do you actually think that it is more beneficial than Blog Commenting ? I mean, the same way can be used to get good inbound links from high ranked sites, so why to do guest posting ? We would love to hear from you regarding this. Feel free to keep your views in the comments!
